    BSBSA invites Bulgarian artist Aleksi Ivanov to reimagine mythological creatures in Bucharest

    As part of the BSBSA (Belgrade Sofia Bucharest Street Art) project, multidisciplinary artist Aleksi Ivanov, originally from Varna and based in Sofia, is coming to Bucharest to create an impressive mural and host a street art workshop, followed by an artist talk. This is a unique opportunity to explore the vision and techniques of an artist known for revitalising public spaces through his interventions.

    Don’t miss the chance to witness the transformation of urban space in Bucharest through Aleksi Ivanov’s unique vision and learn from an artist with vast experience in public interventions.

    Street art workshop and artist talk 
    In addition to creating the mural in Bucharest, Aleksi will lead a workshop for street art enthusiasts, sharing his creative techniques and approaches. The workshop will be followed by an artist talk, offering participants the opportunity to interact directly with the artist and gain deeper insights into his artistic process and motivations.

    Aleksi Ivanov – Tales / artistic intervention 
    Aleksi Ivanov’s work, Tales, is a contemporary interpretation of local mythology based on friendly creatures from Romanian, Serbian, and Bulgarian folklore, stories, and legends. The mural will be available to experience starting October 18 in the public space offered by project partners, located at Mihai Bravu Boulevard, no. 75/83, Block C17, Bucharest.

    About Aleksi Ivanov 
    Aleksi Ivanov, born in 1988, began his artistic career in 2003 with graffiti but quickly turned his focus to contemporary muralism and urban interventions. His work is centred on the positive transformation of public spaces, often choosing abandoned or neglected locations to revitalise through art. His early style, initially naive and colourful with cartoon-like characters and illustrative elements, evolved through collaborations with artists from various fields.

    With a degree in Social Sciences, Aleksi’s primary purpose is to create a positive social impact. Recently, he has been exploring digital art as a new medium of expression, adding a fresh dimension to his work that is sure to capture the public’s curiosity.
